Waypoint PIBOS
When Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 departed Kuala Lumpur International Airport on Saturday, 8 March 2014, air traffic control instructed MH370 to climb flight level one eight zero cancel SID turn right direct to IGARI
The standard departure from KLIA would be through waypoint PIBOS. This route was also in the Filed Flight Plan for MH370.
Because of this 'insignificant' instruction, MH370 would arrive at waypoint IGARI earlier than expected...
Standard Departure - Runway 32R
Runway 32R is described in the article KLIA and MH370.
Aircraft departing KLIA from runway 32R and proceeding north east will normally make a right turn and head towards waypoint PIBOS as shown in the diagram below.

Consequence of this event
The consequence is simply that MH370 would arrive at IGARI sooner than expected. The significance of that will be discussed in the article Waypoint IGARI and MH370.
At 0043:31 MYT, the KLACC Sector 3 Planner made a direct telephone call to the Ho Chi Minh (Viet Nam) Area Control Centre (HCM ACC) relaying the estimated time of arrival of MH370 for waypoint IGARI as 0122 MYT. However, following the instruction to cancel the standard instrument departure and proceed direct to IGARI, it is estimated that MH370 would arrive at IGARI one minute earlier and the revision was not communicated to HCM ACC. See below for details:-

Factual Information MH370/01/15 1.1.1
There was no record of transmission that a revision of ETA was passed by KL ATCC to HCM ATCC when MH370 was cleared direct to waypoint IGARI. However, based on the reconstruction of the flight profile conducted on the B777 simulator, the flight would be at waypoint IGARI one minute earlier than the original ETA of 1722 UTC (0122 MYT).
