Royal Malaysia Police Response
Following the disappearance of Malaysia Airlines Flight MH370 on Saturday 8 March 2014 the Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) commenced a Criminal Investigation under Section 130(C) of the Penal Code (Malaysia) which includes offences of hijacking, sabotage and acts of terrorism; and also all offences under the Aviation Offences Act. Dato’ Hadi Ho, the Director of Criminal Investigation Department was appointed to head the team of the investigators.
The Investigation focussed on four areas:-
- Hijacking
- Sabotage
- Psychological problem of the passengers and crews
- Personal problems among the passengers and crews
The scope was broad, including the aircraft flight crew, cabin crew, and passengers, the ground staff - everybody[1].
On Sunday 9 March 2014 police visited the home of the Pilot-in-Command Zaharie Shah and the home of the First Officer Fariq Ab.Hamid.
On Saturday 15 March 2014 police visited the home of the Pilot-in-Command Zaharie Shah again and seized his personal the flight simulator for the purpose of examination.
